Walt Disney’s Alice In Wonderland

Tim Burton has long been hailed as a visionary director. From movies such as “The Nightmare Before Christmas” to “Corpse Bride“; his legacy is already being built with flawless brilliance. He has a knack for colour and an astounding ability to perceive what others do not even dream off. He breathes life into his characters making them find a place in our hearts that captivate our inner ability to nostalgically remember our childhoods. The energy in the story-telling far surpasses anything I have ever seen.

And… from Director Tim Burton… comes Walt Disney’s Alice in Wonderland in Disney’s Digital 3D and IMAX 3D. This is a show that cannot be missed in 2010 and is sure to be loved by millions of adults and children alike across the world.

Some criticize the movie as no more than a vehicle for Johnny Depp to showcase his talents but largely reward the stunning visual entertainment. Even though the essence of the story of Alice in Wonderland remains the same; the screenplay was written to somewhat change the story of Alice in Wonderland and bring it into the 21st century.

In my opinion, Johnny Depp played an outstanding role and was fully supported by his co-stars. The performance was remarkable by all the characters and the movie brought an odd sense of ones childhood back.

Weird and wacky do not begin to explain the Wonderland that Alice falls into. As mentioned above Tim Burton cued a perfect balance of bland uninspired colour in Alice’s home (the real world) and once she falls into Wonderland (actually while she is falling) there is an instant burst of colour and imagination and one is swept of their feet into incredible, unthinkable and unimaginable place that only Mr. Burton could pull off.

There are no words for the animation produced by Walt Disney. The realism was just magnificent and in 3D you feel a part of the story rather than watching it.

With its amazing all star cast and shot in 3D for IMAX this movie promises to be a must see for 2010.
